Forgiveness is something we often give willingly to the people in our life, but not to ourselves. I am bad for that. I will harbour and dwell on things I did as much as things I can’t control and let them eat away at my soul. It drains your energy, your trust and your ability to love freely. It effects your overall happiness and I have decided I deserve to be happy.
There are so many amazing people in this world who inspire and motivate us to be happier, healthier and basically better people all around. Every week my Woman Crush Wednesday is dedicate to a woman who inspires me in some way, some how. It’s my way of saying thanks for the inspiration and hopefully spreading some of that inspiration along to others.
My first Women Who Inspire me post is dedicated to a dear friend of mine, Grace Van Burkem, owner of Gracious Living, a company specializing in well being retreats (often with surfing) and nutritional consulting.
I gave up on anything that I had been dreaming of. Things important to me and my personal development. I did not in any way give up on my Mom Duties. don’t let the bugs keep you from enjoying the great outdoors
The critters are bad in Cape Breton this year. Partly because we’ve had a very, very wet spring – which means the black flies are hatching in small batches, prolonging their human biting season. And this, according to the expert on CBC radio, means we will also have a lot more mosquitos as well. And thanks to a drastic decrease in the bat population for the area these blood suckers have more chances to survive longer. When it comes to Italian pasta sauces, this easy to make tomato sauce is a winner every time when it comes to battle of getting kids to eat.
It’s not something I got from a book, but something I was taught. I love it because you don’t have to let the sauce sit all day to get the flavour. By slowly cooking the herbs and spices with the oil first before adding the tomatoes, you infuse the sauce with flavour, making it a quick and easy meal. Continue reading →
